...brought to you by Recipes EU

Peach Crisp - Sugar Free
4 cups peaches, peeled and sliced
5 tbsp minute tapioca
2 tbsp vegetable shortening, melted*
1/2 cup unsweetened apple juice concentrate
1/2 tsp cinnamom

TOPPING

3/4 cup flour
1/3 pecans, chopped
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup vegetable shortening

To Make the Crisp: 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Oil a 9X9X2 inch
glass or ceramic baking dish. 2. Drain peaches well and pat dry with paper
towel. 3. In a large bowl stir together all ingredients except topping.
Pour into prepared dish and let sit for 10 minutes. 4. Add topping and
bake for 55 minutes or until topping is crisp and slightly golden. Remove
from oven and place on wire rack to cool. 5. Serve warm or cold. Store in
the fridge; can be frozen and reheated.

To Make the Topping: 1. In a medium sized bowl, stir together all the
ingredients. 2. Spoon topping over any pie or fruit crisp and smooth by
hand yield: enough for one crisp or 1 pie

Lu's Notes: Peaches are naturally quite sweet, but I shave in the past
made peach pies with honey which add's a nice flavour and sweetness. I
think honey could easily be added here, about 1/4 cup maybe as the tapioca
is a great "thickener"
* You can use oil or lard if you prefer

Losing weight

If you enjoy your food, but want to drop a dress size and also enhance your all round vitality, then you need to eat a meticulously prepared healthy-minded weight loss program. In a perfect world, this should include 5 measures of fruit & veg a day and also incorporate the optimum proportion of crucial nutrients.

When planning a diet, you have to also endeavour to cut back on your consumption of salt, fats and refined carbohydrates.

When starting a weight loss program, dieters most certainly focus on chain store and branded food items labelled as 'low in fat'. This is frequently foolish, given that a food item may be low in fat content, but whilst still being contain excess carbohydrates.

Keep yourself hydrated. At times in the course of a normal work day, you guess you are peckish when in fact you might need a cool tumbler of water or juice. The feelings of needing food and needing a drink are nearly the same, but one of them can lead to a fat tummy and the other one leads to no harm.

Rather than thinking about those unhealthy foods you should remove from your meal plan, direct your attention to the sensible foods which you might want to introduce to your daily routine. If you inject some nourishing fruit & veg into your daily routine, you will find that you feel more full and have a substantially lower risk of being seduced by those unwholesome mid-day nibbles.
