Spareribs In Sauce (Spuntature Al Sugo) -- Italian
1 1/2 lb pork back ribs
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp crushed red chili pepper
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 cup chicken broth
1 can tomatoes, (19 oz)
1 tbsp red wine vinegar

Cut strip of ribs into 2 rib portions. In large nonstick skillet, heat oil
over medium-high heat. Cook chili pepper for 30 seconds. Add ribs. Cook,
turning, until browned on all sides. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Stir in broth, tomatoes, breaking them up with fork, and vinegar. Bring to
boil. Reduce heat and cook, stirring occasionally, for 1 hour or until
meat is tender and no longer pink close to the bone. (The sauce will be
reduced by about half. If it becomes drier during cooking, stir in a bit
of water to maintain a sauce-like consistency.) Skim any visible fat from
surface of sauce.

Diet hints and tips

If you want to shed a few kilos and also improve your general vitality, among other things you should follow a carefully calculated sensible meal plan. Theoretically, this ought to take in 5 standard portions of fruit/vegetables each day and also involve the right mix of carbohydrate, fat, and proteins.

In planning a meal plan, the most important step is to also try to reduce consumption of salt, fats and refined carbohydrates.

When chosing foods for dieting, dieters far too often look at department store and branded foods known as 'low fat'. This is frequently a mistake, in that a food could be very low in fats, but whilst still remaining contain excess carbohydrates.

Drink plenty of water. Sometimes when going through a hectic afternoon, you believe that you want food but in truth you might simply need a cooling glass of water or juice. The feelings of hunger and thirst are close, but one of the two results in weight gain and one is healthy.

As an alternative to paying too much attention to the junk foods that you ought to ban from your dietary regime, look at the "good" foods which you should add to your meal plan. If one can inject the recommended amount wholesome grains and vegetables into your meal plan, you will find that you feel more satisfied and have a significantl;y lower risk of being seduced by those unhealthy mid-afternoon biscuits.
