Tangy Fish Kabobs
8 oz fresh fish filets, if using frozen thaw and drain
1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tsp fresh basil
2 tsp fresh oregano
2 tsp fresh thyme
1 tsp dried rosemary
6 mushrooms
1 small zucchini, cut in 1/2-inch slices
1 small onion, cut into small wedges
1 medium red or green bell pepper, cut into 1-inch chunks
4 cherry tomatoes
1 small yellow squash, cut in 1/2-inch slices
3 tsp lite soy sauce

Cut filets into 1&1/2-inch pieces and place in a small bowl. Whisk
together the oil, lemon juice, basil, oregano, thyme, and rosemary and
pour over the fish, tossing gently to coat. Cover tightly and marinate in
the refrigerator for 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Remove the fish from the marinade and
discard the marinade. Combine all the vegetables and steam lightly for
about 3 minutes.

Assemble the kabobs on 4 skewers, alternating fish and vegetable pieces as
desired. Spray the rack on a broiler pan with cooking spray and place the
skewers on the rack.

Bake for 6 minutes. Turn the kabobs and bake for 6 to 7 minutes or until
the fish flakes easily with a fork.

Diet tips

If you enjoy your food, but want to regain your youthful figure and improve your general physical condition, then, as most people know, you need to start a thoughtfully prepared well-balanced meal plan. In theory, this needs to contain five portions of grains and vegetables on a daily basis and embrace an appropriate fusion of protein, carbohydrates and fats.

When planning a dietary regime, it is important to endeavour to regulate your intake of fats, refined carbohydrates and salt.

People starting a weight loss program often concentrate on retail store and branded food items sold as 'low fat'. This is frequently a miscalculation, for a food might be lowered in fats, but whilst still being contain far too much calories and carbs.

Keep yourself hydrated. Your body needs water , it is critical for our good health and is blessed with calories and fat. Water also has the benefit that it fills the drinker's empty stomach and helps reduce sensations of hunger. The recommended amount experts declare that we should try to drink at the minimum 6 glasses of water each day.

Instead of paying too much attention to the unhealthy foods you need to ban from your weight loss program, concentrate on the recommended foods that you can bring into your meal plan. If you manage to bring in the recommended amount nourishing grains, fruit and vegetables into your daily routine, you will be delighted to find that you feel full and have a much decreased chance of giving in to those unhealthy midday snacks.
