German Applesauce Meatloaf Aunt Matilda Recipe

German Applesauce Meatloaf Aunt Matilda
1 1/2 lb Ground beef
1/2 lb Ground pork
1/2 cup Onion, fine chopped
1 cup Applesauce
1 large Egg
1 cup Bread crumbs (see note)
3 tbsp Ketchup
2 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Pepper, black


Preheat oven to 350 deg f. Lightly ooiol a 9 x 5 x 3 loaf pan. In a
large bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well. Place meatloaf
mixture in pan. Bake 1 1/2 - 2 hours. Let cool 10 - 15 minutes. Turn
out of pan. Slice and serve. NOTE: if necessary, add more bread
crumbs, a tablespoon at a time, to make loaf firm.
