Moravian Christmas Cookies (Czech)
8 oz Dark molasses
1/2 cup Brown sugar
1/2 cup Margarine
1 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp Cloves
1 tsp Ginger
1 tsp Allspice
1/2 tsp Nutmeg
1 tbsp Baking soda
4 cup Flour

Mix flour, sugar, butter, and spices together. Heat molasses until
lukewarm and add baking soda to it. Add molasses to rest of
ingredients and mix well. If necessary, add a little water to the
dough to get it to a soft enough consistency to roll it. Roll the
dough on a well floured surface, making it as thin as humanly
possible. (Paper thin, if you can!) Cut into desired shapes, and
transfer to a non-stick cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 to 8
minutes. If ya do it right, you'll end up with a delicately thin,
not too sweet, yummy spicy cookie. This recipe makes about 40,000
cookies , so be prepared to eat lots of 'em!!

Diet tips

If you wish to shed a few pounds and boost your general healthiness, then, as any dietician will tell you, you really should undertake a thoughtfully prepared healthy meal plan. If possible, this needs to incorporate 5 portions of grains, cereals and vegetables per day and incorporate the correct fusion of protein, carbs and fat.

When deciding on a meal plan, you have to also attempt to lower your ingestion of fats, refined carbohydrate and salt.

When chosing foods for dieting, dieters far too often look at chain store and branded food products labelled 'low fat'. To do this is frequently a mistake, in that a food product could be low in fat, but whilst still remaining contain excess carbs & calories.

One useful tip is to drink plenty of water. Sometimes during a busy afternoon, you feel that you want to eat but really you may simply need a cool glass of water or cranberry juice. The feelings of being hungry and being thirsty are much the same, albeit one of them leads to weight increase and the alternative does not.

As an alternative to paying too much attention to the junk foods you should eliminate from your diet, concentrate on the nutritionally sound foods that you might want to bring into your weight loss program. If one can inject the recommended amount nutritious grains, cereals and vegetables into your meal plan, you'll find that you feel full and have a significantl;y decreased chance of being seduced by those detrimental between meals potato chips.
