1/2 lb dried red beans
1 bay leaf
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp dried basil
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp dried parsley
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
2 cup long-grain white rice


Pack the beans in an irtight container. Combine the whole bay leaf and
spices
in a small bowl, and store in an airtight container. Place the rice in an
airtight container. Makes 2 2/3 cups.
