A Few Choice Christmas Recipes

As Christmas will soon be here, I would like to share a few of my favourite Christmas recipes. These are all recipes that I have personally tested, and each has a little twist that makes is stand out from the 'normal' Christmas fare.

Spicy Turkey Roast Recipe

If you are bored with the standard Christmas turkey recipe, then this one is definitely for you!
It gets its spicy edge from Paprika and ground black pepper, by adds the classic mix of garlic and rosemary to give a really superb full flavoured turkey meat. I tried this last year and my family have insisted we have it again this year - as if I needed any persuasion :)

Buttered Fried Parsnip Recipe

Every year we have parsnips with our Christmas meal, and every year I ask myself 'why on earth don't we eat these more often' - they really are an under-rated vegetable. This recipe is very simple and yet full of flavour. The nutmeg perfectly compliments the sweet flavours produced by the slight caramelization of the parsnips. Yummy!

Shredded Brussels Sprouts Recipe

There is a secret to cooking sprouts, it is to let them have as little contact with boiling water as possible. Steaming is better than boiling, but this recipe shreds and stir-fries them. You will not believe the results - I have served this to sprout-haters and had them ask for more. The preparation is a little more time-consuming than normal, but well worth it.

Roasted New Potatoes With Red Onions Recipe

Everyone loves roast potatoes, and no Christmast meal would complete without them. Why ont try this unusual twist and use new potatoes instead of the normal kind. Easy to prepare, and delicious when done - you won't regret it!
